OC Connections’ Diversity, Inclusion and Wellbeing Committee hosted a virtual “Biggest Morning Tea” on Thursday 19 May via Teams to help raise funds for the Cancer Council and bring staff and participants together for a fun morning of comeraderie, baking and tea.
Thank you to Vivienne Kane, from Community Living, for coordinating the trivia quiz and virtual bake off. Congratulations to the OCCE team who won the quiz and Scott (OCCE) for his bake off win. Scott’s Portuguese tarts literally took the cake! Both winners were presented with vouchers for their efforts.
OC Connections raised over $850 for the Cancer Council – a great effort by all. It is important for us to give back to our community and support organisations and efforts outside of ours. This event not only allowed us to help support the Cancer Council, it provided the opportunity for staff and participants to engage and enjoy each other’s company. It’s our way of bringing our community together, providing opportunities for participants to engage in our communities, and to help to create a more inclusive, respectful and celebratory culture for people of all abilities.
The Diversity, Inclusion and Wellbeing Committee comprises of staff from all areas of the organisation with the aim of building a workplace that is respectful, diverse, inclusive, and healthy. We do this by helping every staff member understand, develop, and maintain an environment where we recognise the dignity and uniqueness of every individual and where we meaningfully leverage and celebrate diversity, inclusion and wellbeing in our workplace.
