Lyndall Slaney, Coordinator of our new Casey Hub, has been busy setting up the operations at its new home at The Cranbourne West Community Hub in the City of Casey.
Lyndall has been recruiting staff, liaising with schools, councils, Local Area Coordinators and Support Coordinators to onboard participants. Her focus will be to provide individual supports to people with disability in this municipality.
Lyndall brings a tonne of experience and a wide-ranging skillset to her role as Casey Hub Coordinator.
Lyndall started her diverse career as a draftswoman/estimator in the building industry. As a mature age student, she returned to full-time study and obtained a Diploma in Community Services and Cert IV in Drug and Alcohol. Lyndall also has a Cert IV in Disability. Her dream would be to study for a Bachelor of Psychology so she could work with participants to develop Behaviour Support Plans.
She has also worked as a Drug and Alcohol Clinician and amongst a busy career and study commitments, she was a stay-at-home Mum for 10 years caring for her two sons.
In 2015 Lyndall started working in disability. She joined OC Connections in 2017 as a Disability Support Worker at the Gooyong Street residence and later moved to the role of Short Term Accommodation Team Leader. In June 2021 she took on the role of Casey Hub Coordinator.
Lyndall is excited about working with the City of Casey community. She is looking forward to developing a new program individualised for each participant and developing relationships with participants, families, key stakeholders and the broader Casey community. She is enthusiastic about ensuring that the Casey Hub will offer a high-quality service to the community.
“I am so excited to learn about the participant’s goals and interests so I can work with them to develop an individualised program that reflects their choices and achieves their goals.”
Outside of work, she expresses her creativity through her craftwork. And who would know it, but Lyndall just loves papercraft. She particularly enjoys making creative journals and likes to incorporate recycled items where she can. She said, “empty cereal boxes are not safe around me!”
Lyndall is proud of her resilient colleagues in the industry and wanted to do a shout out to Disability Support Workers to say thank you for all their hard work and resilience in these unprecedented times.

About Casey Hub
The Casey Hub is located at The Cranbourne West Community Hub. The Hub can also offer support coordination and will be the base for our Casey administration services. Our support services will be delivered throughout the City of Casey, depending on the needs and goals of participants. Staff will support people in their homes, assist with daily activities, at work, or at any site where support is required.
