OC Connections (OCC) encourages families and friends to come along and support the talented OCC participant artists who have entered the 2019 SASI Art Competition.
With the encouragement and support of Val Rowe, OC Connections Disability Educator, 15 artists from OCC have submitted 34 artworks into the competition. Please support the OCC artists by visiting the exhibition to see their diverse works or buy a beautiful piece of art to take home.

The artists exhibiting this year are Craig, Jane, Kathleen, Fred, Vlada, Mitchell, Ben, Ricky, Elisheva, Peter, James, Anna, Allen, Joey and Anne.
The SASI Art Competition is an imaginative exhibition of contemporary art, showcased from 21-28 November in the City of Frankston by Statewide Autistic Services (SASI) to celebrate the outstanding art work of people with disabilities. The works presented in the exhibition have been created by people from the local disability community.

The Alfred Murfey Prize was awarded at the opening night 21 November. This prize is in honour of Alfred Murfey, one of the Founders of SASI, over 50 years ago. A People’s Choice Award, selected by the wider community, and a Packer’s Prize, selected by the Gallery, was also awarded. OCC would like to thank Vicki, Maiten, Arishma, Tori ,Marina and Rose for attending the opening to support our artists .
We are proud to announce that the first prize went to Anna for her piece “It’s not Easy Being Green” and Mitchell was awarded the third prize with “Nine Inquisitive Birds”.
“There are very few opportunities across Victoria for people with disabilities to present their art in a public forum and have their work appreciated by the wider community.
