At OC Connections, we celebrate growth, empowerment, and the joy that comes from new opportunities and achieving goals! One of our most recent success stories is Peter, a long-standing participant in our Day Support program, who decided to expand his horizons by joining the supported employment team at OC Connections Enterprises (OCCE).
In May this year, Peter took the exciting step into supported employment, working two days a week to balance both his new role and his beloved Day Support activities. Peter’s enthusiasm is infectious – he literally jumps out of bed on his workdays, excited to put on his work boots and hi-vis, ready to tackle the day ahead.
Peter has found joy and fulfilment in assembling Crayola kits, applying stickers, and expertly folding boxes. He’s part of a dedicated team, enjoying the camaraderie of his peers and the guidance of his supervisor, Lilian. But Peter’s role goes beyond just packing – he’s also taken on a Quality Control responsibility, ensuring that everything down the line runs smoothly and up to standard.
Under Lilian’s supervision, Peter continues to thrive. She’s begun to challenge him with new duties, which he’s been picking up quickly. His positive attitude, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn have made him a valued member of the team.
