OC Connections participants, Roger and Tim, were thrilled to be part of the last week of the Channel 9 Footy Show recordings on Anzac Day.
Best of buddies and true gentlemen, the two share a common passion for Footy. Tim barracks for the Bombers, Roger goes for the Hawks but they never let the difference come between them.
Their adventure began with a taxi ride to the Channel 9 studios in Docklands. On arrival, they were greeted by staff at the TV station who were very welcoming, offering them front row seats to the show. Roger had the pleasure of sitting next to an Anzac veteran, celebrating the lead up to the annual commemorative game.
During the pre-show warm-up, Brian Nankervis treated the crowd to a little karaoke competition which Roger won with his rendition of the dancing queen.
Both men enjoyed the on-stage banter with AFL heroes, Mathew Lloyd and Kevin Sheedy and had the good fortune of meeting members of the panel, Brendan Fevola and Anthony “Lehmo” Lehmann (See the photo below where Roger proudly shows off the medal he received from his footy team, the Mazenod Panthers). One of the highlights included seeing the behind-the-show action with a unique glimpse into how a live shows run.
