OC Connections has several committees that are the driving force behind our commitment to excellence, safety, inclusivity, and sustainability.
Each committee plays an integral role in shaping our organisation’s values and direction.
The PRG consists of participant members representing various support areas within OC Connections. Chaired by Tricia Malowney OAM, an independent disability and human rights advocate with lived experience, the PRG holds five meetings per year. Tricia’s role as an independent chair brings invaluable expertise and guidance to the PRG, as she has been supporting and advising OC Connections for many years.
Sara Brentnall, the OCC Board Deputy Chair, also serves as a member of the PRG. Her presence at each meeting enables participants to directly communicate with the Board on matters of interest and importance, fostering a collaborative relationship between participants and decision-makers.
By actively seeking participant feedback and involving them in the decision-making process, OC Connections strives to create an environment that truly meets the needs and aspirations of the individuals it serves.
The Sustainability & Environment Committee, strives to transform OC Connections into a sustainable and environmentally friendly organisation.
This committee is dedicated to implementing green initiatives that make a positive impact on our surroundings. They provide valuable advice and ideas on various sustainability issues, including water and energy usage, waste management, and more. By promoting recycling and coordinating efforts with external advisory groups, the committee actively contributes to our environmental stewardship.
The Health and Safety Committee plays a vital role in ensuring the wellbeing of our participants and employees, and in maintaining a safe work environment. This committee enables a collaborative approach to implementing effective measures that prioritise the health and safety of our workforce, participants, and visitors.
The committee is responsible for contributing to the review of occupational health and safety related policies and procedures, as well as considering any proposals or changes that may impact participant and/or employee wellbeing.
The Diversity, Inclusion, and Wellbeing Committee is committed to cultivating a workplace that embraces and celebrates the uniqueness of every individual. This committee plays a crucial role in fostering an environment where diversity and inclusion thrive, ensuring that every staff member feels respected and valued. By promoting understanding and awareness, the committee helps us appreciate the diverse perspectives and backgrounds of our team.
Additionally, they prioritise the well-being of our employees, championing initiatives that contribute to a healthy and supportive workplace. Through their ongoing efforts, the committee enables us to create a truly inclusive and empowering work environment.
The OC Staff Consultative Committee is an essential platform for enhancing communication and consultation across our organisation. Comprised of dedicated staff representatives, this committee acts as a valuable resource for providing advice and input on organisational changes. They are the go-to group for consultation on these changes, ensuring that the voices of our employees are heard and considered during times of transition.
By facilitating effective communication and fostering a collaborative environment, the OC Staff Consultative Committee strengthens the cohesiveness of OC Connections.
