OC Connections warmly congratulates six OC Connections Enterprises (OCCE) participants for graduating from the hands-on course, Certificate I in Work Education.
The Certificate I in Work Education is a nationally accredited course which aims to support students to develop the skills and knowledge required for employment or volunteering.
Shirley, Janet, Linda and Stephen, were presented with their graduation certificates by training provider Moe Life Skills at The Clayton Community Centre last month. Nane and Belinda also graduated but were unable to attend the awards ceremony.
Participant families and OCCE staff, Steve Betinsky (GM Employment and Enterprises, OCCE) and Donna Hogan (Employee Support Officer, OCCE) were proud to watch the graduates receive their awards.
The recent graduates attended training every Thursday at OCCE. Certificate I in Work Education requires participants to undertake a course one day per week to develop the skills and confidence needed to pursue a pathway to employment.
The Certificate I in Work Education covers the following:
Build confidence and self-esteem
Prepare for employment
Enhance independence
Participate in job seeking activities
Develop interpersonal communication skills
Explore local community options for employment/volunteering
Provide an awareness of health and safety in the workplace
Find work or volunteer placement based on student preferences
Graduates now have the opportunity to begin Certificate II in Work Education or pursue work experience or employment opportunities and we wish them all the best as we continue to support them to achieve their goals.
