Towards Employment is a School Leavers Employment Support (SLES) pathway that helps young people aged up to 22 years old, transition from school into employment by developing their independence and workforce skills.
The pathway is delivered part-time over two years, and is individually tailored to each participant, ensuring support needs, personal goals and interests are identified and considered.
We believe in the power of personalised SLES support. Our team takes the time to understand each individual's skills, interests, and goals to create a customised employment plan, identifying goals, support needs and learning requirements.
Through a variety of training and development opportunities, we equip individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in the workplace. From communication and problem-solving to job-specific skills, we help individuals build a strong foundation for their career.
Participants then benefit from hands-on experience in a variety of jobs and workplaces. From barista training, to car washing, packing to manufacturing, we ensure participants have the opportunity to try different jobs and environments to find what they truly enjoy.
After the first year, the Individual Employment Plan is reviewed and renewed to support the development and training of necessary skills related to the individual’s chosen and desired employment pathway.
When work ready, we can connect participants with partnering Employment Services and business networks to find ongoing employment. Participants are also supported to undertake additional training or further studies with an RTO if desired.
Our commitment doesn't end with job placement. We provide ongoing support to individuals and employers to ensure a successful and sustainable employment relationship. Our team is always there to address any challenges or provide additional assistance as needed.
The Towards Employment SLES pathway empowers individuals with disabilities to overcome barriers and achieve their personal goals, as well as career goals.
Participants and their families have reported increases in social skills, communication, confidence and independence.
SLES or Towards Employment is not just about finding a job; it’s about building a sustainable future. We aim to create a lasting impact by supporting individuals throughout their employment journey and facilitating opportunities for career advancement.
You must be aged 17 to 22 years old and have NDIS funding to join the Towards Employment SLES pathway.
