OC Connections held the first Coffee Morning for family and friends on 13 November. Friends and family members of OCC participants met at Vanilla in Oakleigh for an informal conversation with General Managers Laurelle Edwards (Independence & Community) and Vicki Hayes (Engagement & Partnerships).
The morning was arranged in response to feedback received from families for the opportunity to network with other families. The aim was to provide a relaxed forum to connect, but also to have questions and concerns about the NDIS raised and answered and discussed within the group. Both Vicki and Laurelle found the forum useful to gain an insight into the experiences of families going through the NDIS process.
“This was such a great opportunity to meet with families face-to-face in a casual environment where we could discuss issues, celebrate wins and find out more about the experiences of families and participants,” said Vicki.
Thank you to those who attended the morning. Look out for our email in the new year asking expressions of interest and suitable times for the next coffee event.
