Participants come together to select several recipes, determine the ingredients required, prepare, bake and serve a range of dishes to share with the group. All participants are encouraged and supported to gather and measure ingredients, follow the recipe and prepare for baking. Each works together to clean and tidy before eating the food, or takes it home to share with friends and family.
To build confidence and to encourage participants to independently cook for themselves, recipes are repeated once or twice (depending on complexity) until the group is familiar with the process. A pictorial recipe book is also created for everyone to keep as a step-by-step guide
