Boots and helmets provided by Riding for the Disabled Association of Australia (RDA)

We travel to a nearby RDA facility. In good weather, groups ride with the assistance of volunteers and staff.

Skills we work on include:

• Independently getting correct-size helmets and boots, and putting them on (assistance available)

• Mounting and dismounting

• Leading their horse independently and taking it through various obstacles

• Following RDA staff instructions

If the weather is too wet for riding, the group will do indoor activities such grooming the horses; cleaning the barn; cleaning the saddles; sweeping and generally interacting with the RDA staff and volunteers.
