In Home Support FAQs

  • What is In Home support?

In Home support is support provided by a paid disability worker in your home.  It allows you to get the home help & support you need in your own home to help you live the life you want to live

  • Does the NDIS cover In Home support services?

It does, under Core Supports. Your supports should be discussed at your planning meeting.  Your plan will feature these supports as part of your agreed goals.

  • What is the difference between In Home support and Supported Independent Living?

This is about the level of funding and whether you are living alone or with others.  Both Supported Independent Living (SIL) and In Home support can be provided in your home, however In Home support is an individualised support, whereas SIL can be shared.

All SIL support at OC Connections is currently provided in SDA environments.  In Home support at OC Connections is more flexible and we can provide this in a variety of environments, including care homes and private homes.

  • Who is eligible for In Home disability support services?
