OC Connections General Manager, Community Living, Laurelle Edwards, has been awarded a scholarship for postgraduate study by the Oakleigh Rotary Club.
Every year the Oakleigh Rotary Club awards a scholarship to a member of OC Connections staff to undertake professional development. The bursary aims to ease the cost of this additional study and is given in memory of Mr Allan James who worked hard to support our organisation in the 1950’s and 1960s.
Laurelle will use the bursary to undertake a Diploma in Leadership and Management in 2019.
“Laurelle is a worthy winner of the award, she has contributed significantly to OCC since she commenced three years ago. Together with the Community Living team she has enhanced the supports we offer and, importantly, increased the quality, choice and control for participants.” Therese Desmond (CEO)
Laurelle attended the Rotary dinner on 28 June to personally accept the award and share her story and experience in disability and with OC Connections.
“I am hugely thankful for the generosity of Oakleigh Rotary and look forward to returning to a Rotary meeting in the future to share what I have used the bursary for.”
