2017/12/03 12:00 AM - 12:00 AM

The day is set aside to celebrate the achievements of people with disability and aims to promote an understanding of disability issues, and mobilise support for the dignity, rights and well-being of people with disability, by engaging disability organisations, people with disability, businesses, governments and communities in a range of activities.

The National Disability Awards (Awards) recognise the outstanding achievements and contributions individuals with disability make to our community, and also award individuals, teams and organisations within society who have contributed to the disability sector.

The Award categories are broadly aligned with the National Disability Strategy (NDS) priority areas. The NDS is a ten year strategy to improve the lives of people with disability, their families and carers.
