Gaining confidence through art

When Vlada first joined the OC Connections art program 3 years ago, her main goal was to find the confidence to express herself in her art and how to do it. Today she proudly presents her beautiful pieces at art exhibitions, on the walls of her new home and enjoys explaining it to everyone who asks her about it.

Travelling the world, one brush stroke at a time

Joey loves to travel. Family vacations are spent globetrotting, visiting faraway places and experiencing new things. When he returns to OC Connections, he documents these experiences with mixed media. Felt markers, acrylic paint, yellow paper bags; these all serve as means to share what he sees and feels.

Gaining confidence at work

For most of us, having a job means enjoying an income that allows us to indulge in favourite pastimes. Jessica is no exception. When the 22-year-old is asked what she enjoys spending her weekly salary on, she doesn’t miss a beat: the popular television fantasy series, Game of Thrones, is one of her passions.

A sporting contribution

It’s 5.30pm on a chilly Wednesday afternoon. At Central Reserve in Glen Waverley the scene looks pretty much like any suburban sports ground in the middle of a Melbourne winter: footballers training, running through squad drills and yelling encouragement to each other as yellow leather footballs fly through the air.
