OC Connections provides a diverse range of services to enhance the quality of life for adults with primarily an intellectual disability, and their families in the south-east of Melbourne. Services are delivered to more than 500 adults in the areas of employment, recreation, residential and day services each year.

The Board of OC Connections is seeking a new independent director to help guide the organisation as it transforms to become a provider of choice to people living with disability, with a focus on people with intellectual disability. With a renewed direction, an exciting opportunity presents itself for a suitably qualified individual to join the Board as it prepares for the introduction and implementation of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

Along with the requisite skills and experience, preference will be given to candidates who contribute to improving diversity of the Board and those who can demonstrate:

    • experience within the disability sector
    • a contemporary approach to the disability sector with a strong understanding of the NDIS
    • knowledge of the disability services sector stakeholder and community environment
    • formal governance experience, GAICD preferred.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to the role, including attendance at meetings and preparation for same, and to making a difference to improving the lives and opportunities for people living with disabilities.
