OC Connections (formerly Oakleigh Centre)
has a long and proud history.
Founded in 1950 by a group of pioneering parents the centre was purpose built to accommodate children with Intellectual disabilities across the city of Monash.
We have been providing services to people with an intellectual disability since 1950. Today, OC Connections provides services to more than 400 adults in the areas of employment, residential, recreation and day supports.
Over the past 60 plus years, the centre and the sector have gone through many changes. Please enjoy these photographs from our archives celebrating the wonderful support our community has had over the years for our people.
OC Connections acknowledges the Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the traditional owners of this nation. We pay our respects to ancestors and Elders, past, present and future.
OC Connections respects Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ unique cultural and spiritual relationships to the land, waters and seas and their contribution to our society.
